Our Barron brand cold location electronic ballast provides emergency power to your compact fluorescent lighting (as well as, linear fluorescents:T5-T12) in temperatures as low as 0 degrees. This ballast comes with a battery which is specially designed for low temperatures and gives back up time of as high as 90 minutes.
The XEB-420-CF-CP model has an emergency mode which is activated during a brownout; this is when the ballast will enable one of the fluorescent tubes to light up for 90 minutes. Includes a maintenance-free Nickel Cadmium (NiCad) battery, which has a 24-hour recharge time.
The XEB-420-CF-CP is used for fluorescent and compact fluorescent emergency lights for use in cold-weather applications that allows the same fixture to be used for both normal and emergency operation. In case of blackout, this ballast switches to the emergency mode and operates one or two of the existing lamps for 90 minutes. The ballast can be mounted remotely from the lamp with the maximum distance of 50 feet.
Built in electrical steel, this ballast provides 3/8" flex leads for wiring to the fixture or ballast compartment and test accessories. Test switch and charge light accessories are provided for installation in a standard switch box for mounting adjacent to the fixture. The product is designed for damp locations as condensation usually occurs in cold areas.
This ballast operates at dual voltage of 120/277V at 60 Hz frequency. It provides backup time of 90 minutes during a blackout and has a NiCad battery that recharges in only 24 hours. It consumes power as low as 3.5 watts and consumes 100 watts when the temperature gets below 0 degrees.
