Application
The UFO-RP3 has a low profile, making it easy to install within a fixtures ballast channel. If your light is still too small, this emergency ballast can be installed to a nearby ceiling joist. When AC power is flowing through the normal ballast, this emergency fluorescent ballast will be "asleep", charging its integral Ni-Cd battery unit.
External Specifications
This compact/linear fluorescent emergency ballast comes in a galvanized steel housing that protects internal circuitry from humidity and corrosion. The RP3 has closed-toed mounting feet at either end for grounding to the joist or fixture. Input and output wiring bundles protrude from one side along with the LED charging indicator, which can install to the outside of the lighted fixture.
Electrical Specifications
Note that the UFO-RP3 works with the AC ballast, but does not replace it for normal use. If the installed fixture is on a switch or control board, ensure that the RP3 is connected to a separate line voltage to ensure the battery is fully charged at all times. Dual Lites lo pro emergency transformer pack will light up two 2 foot or 4 foot T8, T10 or T12 (14-54W) linear fluorescent, long and short CFLs (32W) and U-shape T8 bulbs (between 24-32W).
