The B4CF2P Cold-Pak emergency ballast provides proper starting and operating voltage and current to CFL lighting fixtures for smooth operation. It operates in a range of temperatures, meaning its electrical control system is designed to work in cold or hot environments. For emergency backup, these ballasts contain a metal enclosure containing a maintenance free Nickel Cadmium battery (Ni-Cad), charger and electronic circuit. Equipped with a solid-state indication light for continuous monitoring of the charger and battery voltage. With operation temperatures ranging from -20°C (-4°F) to +55°C (131)°F, it can be used with any sealed & gasketed fixture in any wet (or damp) location. It’s also suitable for indoor applications.

Application
The B4CF2PC Cold-Pak can be installed on top, inside of, or remotely to a CFL fixture with a conduit (included). Remote installation is recommended at a maximum of 6 feet in distance from lamp. For simple visual check up of the charging indicator light and for easy testing, the test/monitor plate can be installed near the fixture.
External Specifications
It can be used either with switched or unswitched mode of fixture. If a switched fixture is used, an unswitched live wire must be connected to the emergency ballast for feeding the emergency ballast through AC circuit. The B4CF2P Cold-Pak can be installed inside or on top of the fixture.
Electrical Specifications
Input power for B4CF2P Cold-Pak is 15W with a battery capacity is 19.2 Watt-hour, which meets emergency standards, set out by the National Electrical Code (NEC). This emergency ballast also has delay timer of 3 seconds to prevent under voltage false tripping. It can operate more than one (1) compact fluorescent lamp depending upon the wattage at 910 lumens. Its backup time is 90 minutes in emergency mode.
