It's less than a week until the Fourth of July and your fireworks factory is cranking out several truck-loads of roman candles, bottle rockets and sparklers each day. With so many of your fluorescent lights on round-the-clock, while the machines are crank out explosives, your buildings voltage will be pushed to the max.
What if all those lights go out due to overload or natural disaster? Now you've got over 100 people trapped inside a hot, dark and dangerous powder keg! Avoid such a scenario with our universal voltage hazardous location rated emergency ballast.
With a wattage range between 13 and 55 watts, Bodines BHD55U is the premiere battery pack for potentially explosive environments, dubbed as Class 1 Division 2 spaces by OSHA and UL. It will keep your high output and circline T5 and T8s burning at a reduced lumen output so your employees have time to safely evacuate the building.
Since factories and fossil fuel storage areas tend to get their line voltage power overworked, the BHD55U compensates with a high voltage tolerance. It allows for shifts between the 50 and 60 Hz frequency range, which also protects the unit from harmonic distortion. Note that this fluorescent emergency battery pack is UL-recognized (not actually UL-listed) so it should not be used in explosive environments unless it is inside a sealed & gasketed HL-type fixture.
This C1 D2 emergency ballast comes in a pretty red metal case that encloses the circuitry and protects from moderate dust and moisture contamination. The BHD55U includes a charging indicator light that is not inherently guarded. The installing electrician should apply his/her own explosion proof sealant when applying to your HL fixture body.
