Your crop of hydroponic tomatoes are in the budding stages. You install a new 250-watt high pressure sodium bulb to provide the plants with artificial sunlight, but when you flip on your older magnetic ballast, the lamp did not light up! Don't worry, you just need a new ballast, and luckily Fulham's 250W HPS Ballast kit is the all-in-one replacement solution.
The HH-HPS-MLT5-250-D is ideal for older homes and apartment buildings that use a 240V line voltage. This HID ballast kit includes the ignitor with a rated pulse height of 2.5 ~ 4 kV and a compact dry film capacitor which has a 15% higher temperature limit over oil-filled capacitors. This HPS ballast kit also includes convenient stainless steel mounting hardware, making installation a breeze.

Application
The HH-HPS-MLT5-250-D is the ideal replacement solution for those older, yet utterly reliable magnetic ballast cases. It stands to reason that if your lead circuit ballast is out, your capacitor and ignitor are probably dead or dying too. So why not get the whole shebang in one kit!
Because this ballast has an ultra low starting temperature of -40°C, it can be used in freezing conditions with no problem at all.
External Specifications
The transformer box measures about 5 inches wide and has a somewhat hefty weight of 13.5 lbs. The dual coil constant wattage autotransformer (CWA) is precision-wound and vacuum-impregnated for quiet operation and will regulate your HPS lamps wattage better than any other HID coil types. Four mounting holes on either side of the transformer box are cleared for #10 bolts.
Electrical Specifications
Fulhams 250W lead circuit ballast kit has color coded lead wires with flags denoting the voltage, making installation very easy. It will accept a wide range of fuses including 3, 5, 7 and 10 amps and has a normal power factor of 90%.

The manufacturer extends a limited warranty only to the original customer or end user for a period of no less than 2-years (for the ballast) and an additional warranty of 1 year for the capacitor and ignitor.
